What’s Training Effect?

Training Effect measures the impact of an activity on your aerobic and anaerobic fitness. Training Effect accumulates during the activity. As the activity progresses, the Training Effect value increases from (0.0 to 5.0), telling you how the activity has improved your fitness. Training Effect is determined by your user profile information ( age, weight, gender, weight, height), heart rate, duration, and intensity of your activity. The higher the TE-value the higher is also the expected increase in maximal performance after the exercise. TE gets higher when either exercise intensity or duration is increased.

Training Effect describes the effect of exercise on a 0-5 scale:

0.0 – 0.9 = no effect

1.0 – 1.9 = minor effect (recovery training)

2.0 – 2.9 = maintaining effect (Maintains your aerobic fitness).

3.0 – 3.9 = improving effect (Improves your aerobic fitness.)

4.0 – 4.9 = highly improving effect (Highly improves your aerobic fitness.)

5.0 = temporarily overreaching effect or potentially harmful without enough recovery time.

Note: Training Effect is available in running only for the factory version. We’ll add it in the other activities ( Heart rate-related activities) in next update.
